So yeah, the 1st episode of The Mandalorian has exactly one scene where a woman has a line of dialogue. The entire original trilogy has only four speaking roles (Beru, Leia, rebel woman on Hoth Base,* rebel leader in Jedi), plus the song in Jabba’s palace.

Only half of the ten movies pass the Bechdel Test.

✅: Phantom Menace, Clones, Force Awakens, Rogue One, Last Jedi

❌: Star Wars, Empire, Jedi, Revenge of the Sith, Solo.

I liked the first Mandalorian quite a bit. So did my nearly 10-year-old daughter. But with the new movies working so hard to increase the diversity of the cast, couldn’t one or two of the random aliens have not been dudes?

* I know she has a Wookiepedia name, but it’s not spoken on screen.

† Mon Montha also doesn’t have a name in the original trilogy, though I think her name is used in Rogue One.
